Juneteenth Through My Lens: A Celebration of Freedom and Community
Photography allows us to preserve moments that matter.
This Juneteenth, I visited the African American Cultural Garden in Cleveland, Ohio, where people gathered to celebrate freedom, honor history, and strengthen community bonds. Throughout the event, I was reminded that photography is more than creating beautiful images—it is about documenting stories that deserve to be remembered.
As I walked through the celebration, I observed families, friends, performers, and community leaders coming together in a spirit of unity and reflection. The smiles, conversations, and expressions of pride reflected the enduring significance of Juneteenth.
The photographs in this collection represent my personal observations from the event. They serve as both a record of the day and a reminder of the progress made and the work that remains.
I hope these images encourage viewers to reflect on the importance of freedom, education, culture, and community.
Please enjoy and share your thoughts about what Juneteenth means to you.
