About
From Nashville, TN. At home everywhere.
I’m Thomas Darryl Polk, a seasoned photographer with a BFA in Photography from Ohio University (1977). I built my career in advertising and corporate work—portraits, weddings, events, and even aerial photography from small airplanes before drones. My images have appeared on billboards, in newspapers locally, nationally, and internationally, and in magazines as editorials and covers. I’ve photographed politicians, business leaders, and fashion models for major department stores such as the former May Co, now Macy’s.
At 71, I’m returning to the dream that first drew me to photography: visual journalism. As I travel more overseas, I’m focusing on travel and street photography, documenting everyday lives and moments I call “Lighting the Shadows of the Human Heart.”
